1301 Toy Soldiers Set Private Hoch- und Deutschmeister regiment Painted

54mm Painted in Gloss

Price code A

All hand painted Toy Soldier sets packed in Red Boxes. Cast in quality white metal, hand painted gloss enamels. Available as unpainted casting, kit with colour photo.

Although the “Hoch- und Deutschmeister” regiment had its origin in the Bavarian town of Donauwörth (1696), it soon became the Hausregiment for the city of Vienna, Austria. With the introduction of the systematic numbering of regiments in the mid-18th century, the “Deutschmeister” received the serial number 4.

The regiment’s fame is not only confined to its outstanding military performance on the battlefields of Zenta (1697), Kolin (1757) and Deutsch-Wagram (1809), but also has its place in musical history with a march composed by a Wilhelm Jurek, a “Deutschmeister” himself.

The uniform depicted on this figure is one that dates back to 1880. Since Austrian soldiers in historical movies were often portrayed in this uniform, it is now synonymous with the “Old Austrian Empire”.
